Santa Ana Zoo

Santa Ana Zoo is a fun place to visit with kids. It is located at 1801 E Chestnut Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92701. There are many fun rides for children, a farm, and a monkey enclosure for little ones to play. The zoo is open to the public every day but is closed on Mondays. There are currently renovations and construction projects going on, but even without those, you can still enjoy the zoo.

The Santa Ana Zoo gets more than 270,000 visitors per year and is run by a combination of volunteers and paid staff. The zoo also has an Amazon’s Edge exhibit which recreates the Amazon rainforest, complete with a riverbank, cliff, and moat. Howler monkeys, swans, and other animals live in this habitat.

Visitors were welcomed by animals and given a sneak peak of the upcoming Ocelot Exhibit, which is expected to be completed in March 2015. The Santa Ana Zoo is located in Prentice Park, less than a block from the busy interstate. It is built on land that was deeded to the city by a wealthy rancher, who was fascinated by monkeys. He also required that the zoo keep 50 monkeys on the land. With over eighty species, the zoo is a fun and educational place to spend the day with your family. The zoo also has a children’s farm and rides like a train and a ferris wheel.

The Santa Ana Zoo is the perfect family destination. This zoo is wheelchair accessible and features an incredible collection of animal species. There are plenty of picnic tables and playgrounds, and the beautiful landscaping showcases a variety of conservation-friendly plants. Children can also enjoy the zoo’s farm, which includes sheep and goats. Guests can also take a walk-through aviary to see a range of different species.

The Santa Ana Zoo is open daily except on certain holidays. Admission is $2 per person, and children three and younger are admitted free. During certain hours of the day, it is also open to the public for a special outdoor experience. Parking is free for Zoo Members and children under three. During the warmer months, the Zoo is open until five pm. The zoo offers a variety of rides and exhibits and is a great place for birthday parties. The event had a themed event that incorporated the zoo’s animal collections. The guests were greeted by docents and were able to interact with the animals. A three banded armadillo, a ball python, a pony named Danny, and a binturong named Bindi were all present at the event. There was free valet parking and a complimentary hosted bar. The event raised almost $100,000 for Zoo improvements.
